First Verse(s) of the Week of 2009


Philippians 4:12-13

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

                                                                                                                                                                                                 

The author of this message, Paul, has learnt to be content in every situation, no matter when he was rich or poor.

From what Rev. Ting said on Sunday,
being content may doesn’t mean giving up opportunities, it also doesn’t mean giving second-rated effort.

Rather, being content means that we do not grumble or think how things should have been after we have already done the job with full effort. Well, this is also something i’m still learning 🙂
